Janis Loughner instructs CORE, Kickboxing, Bodeez on the Ball, STEP, SPINNING, Pilates, and also serves as a co-coordinator of our Building Better Bodeez Program. My first job was a receptionist at a Karate School. While working there my curiosity peaked and I began participating in classes and eventually obtained an orange belt and began leading the ladies self-defense classes. This experience lead to my love of the fitness industry.
I have worked in the fitness industry for many years (19) as a certified fitness instructor. Certifications included (NEIDA - National Exercise Instructors Dance Association), (2) AFFA certificates - Step/Aerobics and Aerobic Dance, MAD-DOGG Athletics - SPINNING. My expertise entails cardio kickboxing, step/aerobics, high-low, interval, circuit, muscle endurance classes, and personal training.
Unfortunately, as injuries occur in any fitness related field, I twisted my pelvis while carrying my son (unknowingly) and continued to workout. By doing this I suffered soft tissue damage in my hips/glutes which forced me to give up my love of teaching in 2007, despite enduring two pregnancies while teaching!
THEN......I came to Building Bodeez in August of 2009. I worked really hard to get back into shape, and most importantly, to get healthy. I was surrounded by the most enthusiastic staff that shared my love of the fitness industry and wanted me to be a part of their exceptional team. Join my classes, I will help you to attain your fitness goals and enjoy the journey!

Jessica Fordyce is a Kickboxing and Absolute Abs in 30 instructor at BBFC. Jessica first started taking group fitness classes in college and fell in love with the group dynamic. After graduation, Jessica became a certified group fitness instructor and taught classes for three years. With several personal life changes, Jessica took a break from teaching. In 2010, Jessica joined Building Bodeez as a client (thanks to the recommendation of fellow instructor, Janis Loughner). She quickly learned that this gym was something special. She especially enjoyed all of the class varieties and the welcoming attitudes of everyone. With the help of the Building Better Bodeez group, Jessica has stopped the yo-yo dieting cycle and has learned life-long healthy eating habits. She has also learned that there are other ways to show fitness progress besides the scale. At the end of 2011, Jessica was asked to join the BBFC group fitness staff. Building Bodeez has changed her life, and Jessica hopes to help others find this same joy. Personally, Jessica lives in New Alexandria with her husband and black lab. She is a teacher at Derry Area School District and is the advisor of the middle school's running club.
Victoria Cochran -- It wasn't long after her first Zumba class that Victoria loved the idea of dancing to be fit. With such enthusiasm for the class, she felt the next best thing would be to teach others that working out doesn't have to be work. Her love of fitness began in 2011 when she didn't want to be unhealthy anymore and devoted much of her time to making healthy choices. To challenge herself she trained for and completed the 2011 Pittsburgh Half-Marathon and has kept the motivation to stay healthy going. With her dual degree in Advertising/PR and Broadcast Journalism, she is currently a Social Media Coordinator for Online Stores, Inc. in New Stanton.
Celeste Brasili - I am a student at Saint Vincent College in the accelerated Physician Assistant Program of Duquesne University (2 years SVC, 3 years Duquesne), and also minor in German. I am a graduate of Latrobe High School and swam for three years. Before my sophomore year I had little experience in swimming and I decided become a swimmer in one summer and joined aqua club to do so. I had decided to swim, and was going to stick with it and push myself to limits, which I had never done before. I completed this goal and was fortunate enough to swim at WPIALS, PIAA, break a record with the help of my teammates, and receive the Rafferty Award! Anything is possible when you set your goals high, and do the work!
I am a very goal oriented person, which is why I love fitness and want to help others formulate and complete their goals. I am a certified lifeguard and have lifeguarded for the Latrobe Rogers McFeely Pool for four years, and I also instruct swimming at Saint Vincent College. I became involved with group fitness by attending Building Bodeez as a client alongside my mother. After taking a SPINNING class I was hooked! I was then introduced to kickboxing and I knew that I wanted to become an instructor. I admire all the instructors and how they bring energy to the class. Just as I had done with swimming in high school, I set a goal to instruct classes as a certified instructor -- and have reached this goal as well! Fitness and fun go together at BBFC and I want to be a part of that. I am excited to teach and encourage others to take on more challenges and reach their goals with their fitness.
Lori Sacco - Physical fitness has always been a priority for me. I have taken various group exercise classes for the past 15 years and always loved the group exercise experience and the motivation it provided for me. Exercising has been a personal outlet for me- a time to forget the worries of the day, clear my head, and improve the way I feel about myself. Working out makes me feel strong both inside and out and has given me more confidence.
After having two wonderful children, finding time for myself became very difficult. I was thrilled when a friend recommended that I take a Spinning class at Building Bodeez Fitness Center, just a few minutes from home. I was immediately impressed by the friendly, helpful staff and the extensive list of group exercise classes. I was very happy to find out that CHILDCARE was also provided. Since attending classes here at BBFC, I have not only worked on improving my physical fitness, but have met great people too. My kids even look forward to coming here each week!
I am a Blairsville native and moved to Derry five years ago with my husband, Craig. I am a graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor degree in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences and of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Master degree in Speech-Language Pathology. When I am not at the gym, I am taking care of my amazing family and working part-time as a speech-language pathologist for the Armstrong and Indiana County Intermediate Unit.
I am very excited and honored to be a member of the BBFC team of instructors. I enjoy working out with all of the terrific people at Building Bodeez!
Victoria Donley - I have loved fitness and sports from a young age. In high school I participated in competitive gymnastics, field hockey, and lacrosse. However, during my junior year I overwhelmed myself by coupling lacrosse and gymnastics together and suffered a back injury; I was unable to walk and required physical therapy to complete mundane tasks. I was forced to limit sports, and quit gymnastics. Poor eating habits were uncovered as my physical activity lessened, and years of bad habits caught up with me.
As an on again, off again member of Building Bodeez, I never had a firm plan in place at the gym (which then became a real issue as I was injured). I am very stubborn, and didn't like to have others tell me what to do; I was too embarrassed to ask for help. I built up the courage, and I called Shawn Horwat (owner) and decided to put my pride aside, getting the help that I needed to recover and get into shape again. I started working with Shawn in the Fall of 2011, and was able to regain my strength and endurance, and overcome my back injury.
During my senior year I won "Most Dedicated Player" on my lacrosse team and head a great season! I felt strong and recognized my stamina, but still needed help with nutrition. I joined "Building Better Bodeez" (BBB) and through this amazing program I learned how to change my mindset regarding nutrition. I have now lost over 20 pounds and am competing in new, exciting races/events: 2 Tough Mudders, 1 Half Marathon, Mud on the Mountain, 5Ks, etc. I also have now obtained a Zumba and Aqua Zumba certification, as well as a Personal Training certification through the NCPPT. I am now certified as a RYT 200 Yoga Instructor with a specialization in Pre-Natal Yoga!
April Libengood -- I joined BBFC in April 2011 about two months before my wedding when my sister Becca asked me to join with her to get into shape. My heaviest weight was 200 lbs. At first we just utilized the equipment and even trained with a personal trainer for a couple of months. I lost about 10 pounds but then gained it back over the winter. But in March of 2012 is when something just felt right for me, it was my turn to start dropping the pounds -- I started using My Fitness Pal and tracking my calories burned using my heart rate monitor. The group fitness classes at BBFC make it so fun and easy to lose weight. The instructors were fun and encouraging! I take just about every group fitness class offered and love them all.
I was never more proud of myself on how far I have come until a trip to cedar point last summer where I not only fit on all the roller coasters but I had to pull the seat belt tighter! I have lost 60 pounds with the support of my family/friends and of course an amazing gym that made working out fun! I cant imagine my life without fitness now!
Since losing weight I have ran 5k's, a 5-mile, and even completed a 5k obstacle course. I feel amazing and owe a lot of my success to BBFC, and, of course, my husband for putting up with me being at the gym all the time. I hope to be an inspiration to others that you can change your life and feel great!
Flo Myers -- While single raising my son and daughter, running was my out after the divorce. I could slip a run in wherever I was and needed to be for my children: after work, before pickups from practice, while at meetings, at their father's, etc. (you get the picture) Weight lifting came when I decided I needed to take control of my shape after running so much. Joining an easily accessible local gym, I started with Nautilus workouts and found I really like the old school of free weights. Watching others, picking many brains, asking questions, I learned about form and read about the affect of foods. I saw how I could take charge of the change and “ran” with it. I went on to compete in a few local natural body building competitions, placing first, and then tested the waters at OCB Nationals placing third overall in 2004.
I have completed 3 full marathons, have been a member of 2-five person relays, a member of 2 ultra marathon relays and numerous 5/10 k's in Western PA. I have also dabbled in karate, earning a brown belt. I am currently a licensed USSF referee for outdoor soccer and indoor Futsal. I am also a NFHS ref for high school soccer.
I am married living in Latrobe and still am running/lifting/working out as it is a part of my everyday living. I chose to earn my group fitness certification recently as it has brought all of my life's exercises full circle and I thank BBFC for the next adventure in life.
